FVCC 2s v North Kilworth

The final pre season friendly before the league starts next Saturday saw Fleckney Villiage 2nd XI travel to play North Kilworth.

Fleckney won the toss and decided to bat first and after being 18/2 the Skipper and Mike Hextall ( a very well made 60) began to rebuild the innings taking the score to 80 before Kisby got out.

That triggered the typical Fleckney collapse as we were soon 105/7 but as the previous week Nilesh got a very valuable 20 to get us to a respectable 150/9 at the end of our 40 overs.

Then Kilworth took to the crease for there innings and Fleckney were well in the game most the way through the innings with some tight bowling again from Nilesh and Max (who both picked up their 50th FVCC wickets in the process) upfront and backed up from Scott, Sam Hill, Frank and the returning Raz who had not bowled for nearly 2 years, we fell just short as Kilworth reached there target with just over 3 overs remaining.

A close game played in the correct spirit by both teams.

Thanks to North Kilworth for the game and good luck in your debut league season.
